The spine, which forms the base for the rest of our skeletal system, is a semi-rigid structure consisting of 33 vertebrae (block-like series of bones) that are connected together by spinal discs, ligaments, joints and muscles.
Rheumatic diseases are painful conditions caused by swelling or inflammation in the muscles, joints, ligaments or tendons.
